With this Cassette single Current Affairs say goodbye. Their first ever realease "Object" was not only comidillo's 2nd release but my own getaway into problem solving with cut and paste. Amongst many things CA was a little whistle of hard pop energy, heard by some, unseem by most but I believe what we did was magical.

Self substained for 7 years, Current Affairs managed to sneak into venues all around the UK and Europe, sharing tours and line ups with some of the best such as Nachthexen, Nape Neck, Es and Comfort to name a very very few. One day I'll make an obnoxious familly tree of bands related to its members so see how good a comp that could be but I haven't even done my tax return yet.

Often mistreated to Siouxie and The Banshees and Joy Division, CA was always missing the blank in ripping off The Go Gos and The Wippers via some Give Me Back My Man B-52s. In fact to my geeky satisfaction, its the perfect mix between The Passions and Sad Lovers and Giants, or The Flowers and The Nescessities, or Big In Japan and Kleenex, etc etc. Who cares at this point about wearing anything on thier sleeve and unashamedly yelling our obsessions and fantasies: After all these were primordial feelings underneath the drive to carry on playing and touring, cutting and pasting.

Non the less, the sound was unique, sincere and weird, making who ever judged miss the blank too.

This Object contains the very final unreleased recordings of the band. An intented 7" single, which to our luck didnt waste any vinyl and kept us wondering how to push the newer sound towards the 1st and final long play.

Still, these wee ditties contain a lot of weirdness and pathos within its limited tracks.

The B side contains a rought and ready collage of a live concert in Southend on the october tour 2018. This tour was very special for the band and was blessed with Beldina Odenyo Onassis on bass. Better known as the ripping force behind Heir Of The Cursed. An amazing voice and friend who left the flesh realm at a moment where we didn't see it possible. How ever our history is panned out, we have these physical leftovers to tribute what little history Current Affairs built.

Moving through the matters, forget that you reek , so turn your cheap cheek!

What a fantastic find. Throws all of my love for Wire, Minutemen, The Waitresses, and every other herky-jerky art-punk band, into a blender and comes out better than a kale smoothie. But beyond the nostalgia factor, these are sharp songwriters and arrangements. Excited to see them live tomorrow night! Ragle Gumm
